Running costs

What would Starlink add to your electricity bill?

At 80 watts and an example electricity rate of 25p/kWh, a Starlink kit costs £14.40 to run for 30 days. Adjust the figures below for your kit and tariff.

Your setup

Use a measured average if available. Otherwise, check the specification for your exact kit.

Use the unit rate including VAT. The standing charge is excluded because this tool estimates the extra energy used by the equipment.

Which power figure should you use?

Starlink lists 75–100 W for Standard 4 and 4X, 50–75 W for the older Standard Actuated kit and 20–40 W for Mini. Those averages include the dish, supplied router, power supply and cables. Do not add the supplied router’s power a second time. A power supply’s maximum rating is not the same as average consumption.

For an illustrative 80 W setup running continuously at an example 25p/kWh, the calculation gives £14.40 over 30 days. This is not a current tariff quote. Read the power-cost explanation for assumptions and a worked calculation.
