Order checklist

Six checks before you pay.

Start with somewhere suitable for the dish. Then check the complete order, including the equipment conditions and when billing begins.

Reviewed 25 September 2026

  1. Check your exact address. Look at the plans Starlink offers for your property. Compare them with the fibre, mobile and fixed wireless options you can order there.
  2. Find a usable dish position. Scan for obstructions where the dish could actually go. A clear view from the middle of a field is no help if there is no practical cable route to the house.
  3. Match the plan to the job. Residential and Roam have different location and data rules. For a home plan, choose a download limit that fits your household rather than assuming the most expensive tier fixes every problem.
  4. Include the setup costs. Add equipment, delivery, a suitable mount and any extra cable or labour to the service price. Our UK prices page separates monthly service from those extras. You may be able to do the setup yourself; a paid installer is optional.
  5. Read the commitment and dates. Some hardware offers carry a service commitment and a fee for certain changes or leaving early. Note the billing start and return deadline in your order or account. Billing can begin automatically, so do not assume it waits for an installer’s appointment.
  6. Keep the referral attached. Start through our referral link and confirm the eligible second-month-free offer before paying. The customer rules require a new direct order, activation and at least two months of service.

Save the order summary and confirmation. If you need fitting help, contact an installer with the exact kit details after ordering and confirm the appointment once the equipment has arrived. See how to arrange installation. Once the kit arrives, test your usual calls, streaming and work tasks while there is still time to act on the results.

If you use a landline, arrange any number transfer with the new phone provider before cancelling your existing line. A Starlink order does not move it for you. Our guide to landlines and Wi-Fi calling covers number transfers, calls during power cuts and alarm checks.
