Is Starlink’s 30-day trial a free month?

Reviewed · UK Satellite Internet

No. The 30-day trial is a chance to return the equipment under Starlink’s refund terms. The referral offer is separate: an eligible new customer pays month one and receives a service credit for month two.

The deadline is tied to billing

The published GB terms allow a qualifying kit return within 30 days of the Payment Due Date. Confirm that date in your order and account, along with the return instructions. Billing can begin automatically even if you have not fitted the dish, so an installer appointment should not be treated as the start of the trial.

What a qualifying return covers

The kit and accessories must be undamaged and unmodified. The GB terms cover the purchased equipment price, or the activation price for a rental, plus the applicable first-month service or rental fee, kit access fee and demand surcharge after a timely kit return. Shipping and handling are non-refundable. Any installer you hire has a separate contract.

Test before the deadline

Keep the packaging and follow the return process in your Starlink account if it is unsuitable. During the trial, test calls, uploads and the rooms you use at busy times. The referral credit is a reason to keep an eligible service that suits you; it does not extend the return window.
