Can you take Starlink to a new UK address?

Reviewed · UK Satellite Internet

If you own your kit, you can request a new Residential service address through your Starlink account, subject to availability there. Rental kits have extra conditions. Changing the address disables service at the old home, so check the new location before moving the equipment.

Check the new property

Confirm the available plan and scan a possible dish position. The old mount or cable may not suit the new building. Full fibre or good mobile broadband at the new address may also change which service makes most sense.

Changing the service address

The online account route is Subscriptions, your subscription, then Service Location. The app offers Service Location under Manage Subscription. Changes must stay within the country where you signed up and depend on capacity. Starlink says to allow 15–30 minutes for the change to appear in your account. You still need to remove, set up and test the kit at the new home. The old location stops working and returning to it is not guaranteed.

If you rent the kit

Starlink's transfer guidance says a rental service line cannot be transferred to another location until you change the plan. That may involve buying the kit or paying a change fee. Check the options in your account or with Starlink before arranging the move.

Could the move change your bill?

A different address may offer different Residential tiers. If your order has a service commitment, an address change can also trigger the reducing change fee in the GB terms. Check both before confirming the move. For repeated trips between locations, compare Roam rather than repeatedly changing a Residential address.
